My Mother was living with me and I was her full-time caretaker. When she needed more care, I had to make the agonizing decision to move her to an assisted living. I knew putting her in a large nursing home facility was not for us. Tricia McKinney was opening a personal care home, and / was thrilled when she was able to take my mother as her first resident. From day one, my mother received the love and attention that we were giving her at our own home. My family never had to worry about her safety and knew she was getting the best possible care. Tricia provides a unique care environment. One must come see her facility to understand that your loved one will be living in a beautiful home setting in a neighborhood in a family style environment.
When my health started deteriorating, my doctor advised me I would not get well if I continued being a 24/7 caregiver for my wife. We found a place that fit the requirements very well. Their caregivers measured longevity in years instead of months as some other places do. These caregivers watch and care for the residents far better than other places we had experience with. They really knew the residents and the residents knew them. When Harvey hit, they were on higher ground, but surrounded by water. Management gave us frequent updates on their situation. I can’t say enough good things about this place and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone needing such a place. The manager goes above and beyond keeping both a business and a personal contact with families. I consider her as a friend as well as manager of the facility.
I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Tricia and Hands To Lend Assisted Living facility. My mom has been there about 18 months and she is getting personalized and loving care every day. Tricia runs a tight ship of care workers and expects a level of care above and beyond what we were used to at other assisted living and memory care facilities. Of particular note is the accountability and involvement I see from Tricia and her staff when interfacing with hospice. She personally addresses any concerns her staff notices or that I notice. I’m so glad I found Tricia!
